You may know that for the last few years I've been happily volunteering on the Board of the local Make-A-Wish chapter, which grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.  Our mission is very close to my heart as I have two nephews who were Wish Kids and they fondly remember the joy and power of their Wishes.  

With my nephews in mind and everything that all of our Wish children go through, I do what I can to help Make-A-Wish fulfill its mission.  The recent Boston Marathon reminded me that my marathon days (only one such day, to be exact!) are over, but in the spirit of doing what I can now, I am participating in MAW's Walk and Roll for Wishes fundraiser.  I will be walking 2.9 miles, along with others in our region, to raise funds so we can grant these life-changing Wishes.  While 2.9 miles may not sound like a lot to some, keep in mind that for some of our Wish families, the thought of walking or rolling 2.9 miles is a virtual impossibility.  So we all do what we can.  THANK YOU!
