I am really proud to support Make-A-Wish and their work in our community. Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. A wish gives children renewed energy and strength, brings families closer together and unites communities.
I started volunteering with Make-A-Wish in 2019. During this time I have had the honor to meet with some of the most resilient families I have ever encountered. There is was no better joy than meeting these sweet children and seeing their faces light up when we talk about a potential wish!
On October 20th I walk for Daniel who is now an Engineering student at Michigan State University. I walk for Erica who wished for a shopping spree. Both of Erica's parents worked 2 jobs to keep up with high medical expenses. I walk for Andrea, a very difficult and long wish. I walk for all the rush wishes, Sheldon, Chaim, Emma, Mia, Kailey, Pablito and Julian whose illness was so critical that time was of essence.
Make-A-Wish has granted more than 550,000 wishes around the world? That’s a lot, yes. But right now, for every wish that comes true, two more children with critical illnesses are waiting for theirs to be granted becuase Make-A-Wish lacks the necessary funding. I'm fundraising for Make-A-Wish so that more deserving kids and their families can know the life-changing joy, renewal, strength and hope that a wish can bring.
