Walk For Wishes Grand Marshal Oban
This year, I am proud to support Make-A-Wish Connecticut and their work in our community as Grand Marshal of Walk for Wishes on Saturday, May 11th!
Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children like me who have had or are experiencing critical illnesses. A wish gives children renewed energy and strength during a very difficult time in their lives, brings families closer together, and unites communities.
Did you know that Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year? That’s a lot of wishes, but only 50% of the eligible kids. Every hour of every day, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. In 2023, over 15,000 children were diagnosed with cancer, like I was in October 2020. I’m fundraising so every one of these kids and their families can know the happiness, strength, and relief a wish can bring.
These life-changing wishes are only possible because of supporters like us. I know firsthand that a wish experience can truly change a child’s life, and so can you.
