Those of you who know Don and I know that 2023 was a bit of a horrific year for us.  Determined to make this year BETTER and to make a difference, we have committed to the 2024 Make-a-Wish Foundation Trailblaze Challenge.  Over the next few months, we will train for a 23 mile hike on April 20.  We expect this to not only be healing for both of us, but we are also very excited to raise money for an extremely worthwhile cause. 

We've already learned so much about what Make-a-Wish does for critically ill children.  It's no small thing to provide them with something to look forward to during a dark time in their young lives.  Having a wish fulfilled can actually make a real difference in their treatment outcome.  We are excited to learn more and meet some of these precious young people in the months to come. 

South Carolina has about 400 wishes in their queue right now.  The average cost to fulfill a wish, which range from very small to very large (they were able to arrange an audience with the Pope for one child!), is $7500.  Last year they were able to fulfill over 200 wishes, but that still leaves half unfulfilled.  We hope to raise enough to fund a wish.
