I am excited to take on this year's Trailblaze Challenge . In addition to the physical challenge of hiking more than 25 miles in one day, I am committed to raising funds for Make-A-Wish South Carolina to grant wishes for children with critical illnesses.
I have volunteered with Make-A-Wish South Carolina for more than a decade and have seen firsthand how the power of a Wish can transform not only the child but the entire family. From my next door neighbor Carlo (Greer) who suffered from cancer, Ellie (Greer) who has a nervous system disorder or Gunnar (Rock Hill) who lives with cystic fibrosis, these wishes can make a world of difference!
Currently, there are more than 400 children with life threatening or critical illnesses on the wish list in South Carolina. More funds equals more smiles, happiness and the drive to keep pushing through their medical treatments.
If you've followed my Trailblaze Challenge journey, you know I've participated in 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023 and now in 2025. Last year, I participated in the W.I.S.H. Society where women used their network to raise $7,500 each - the average cost of a wish. This year I have a powerful opportunity to historically raise $40,000 for Make-A-Wish South Carolina for my 40th birthday as the South Carolina Chapter celebrates 40 years of bringing hope, strength and joy to children with critical illnesses. I would be humbled for any donation to go towards this effort.
