Friends and Family,
It's time for me to hit the trail again! As you may remember, in May 2018 I had an awesome experience getting to do the Trailblaze Challenge to raise $$ for Make-a-Wish SC. In October 2019 I did it again for the 2.0, and then again in 2020 for the 3.0. In 2022 David J. tackled the challenge and I was blessed to join him on trail. Last fall David did it again, this time with Erika. This fall I'm going big and doing the 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0! That'll be 3 weekends of 28.3 miles apiece and covering the whole Foothills Trail! Doing all 3 means my goal is also 3x, so I'm shooting to raise $7500 for Make-a-Wish...that means funding 1 whole wish with my legs and your $$!
As you probably know, my oldest son David was diagnosed with bilateral Wilm's Tumor (pediatric kidney cancer in both kidneys) on his 4th birthday. He underwent chemo and had 1.5 kidneys removed that summer and fall. Along the way David found out that he was going to get to go to Disney to "ride the train" thanks to Make-A-Wish SC. That proved to be an amazing bright spot to look forward to as he was dealing with treatments, pokes, prods, and surgeries and was such a blessing. On his 5th birthday, his wish was granted he rode that train (along with 6 other days in Orlando doing everything!). 10 years later David is cancer free and a Trailblazer himself. Make-a-Wish has made a big impact on my family, and the opportunity to give back (while putting my legs to the test in the outdoors) is amazing. Thank you for taking a look and please consider donating if you feel like supporting me in my adventure! Thanks as always!
David
Some Stats:
Did you know that Make-A-Wish has granted more than 550,000 wishes around the world? That’s a lot, yes. But right now, for every wish that comes true, two more children with critical illnesses are waiting for theirs to be granted because Make-A-Wish lacks the necessary funding.
Life-changing wishes are only possible because of supporters like us. A wish can truly transform a child's life, and we have the power to grant it. Please, donate now!
