2024 Fall Trailblaze Challenge South Carolina: Emma Gourdin

Hey everybody! My name is Emma and I have been volunteering with the SC Trailblaze Challenge since I was 4 years old! I am now 10, and I am super-excited to say that I'm ready to take on the challenge myself!!

Make-A-Wish SC grants life-changing wishes to deserving kids right here in our own state. These kids struggle with critical illnesses every day and often don't get to enjoy all the fun things that I get to do as a kid. A granted wish brings fun, happiness, strength and hope to Wish Kids and their families. It gives them all a reason to smile!

Every wish that comes true is SO awesome! But many more kids are waiting for their wishes to be granted and I need your help to make it happen! On October 5th, I will hike 28.3 miles of the Foothills Trail IN ONE DAY as I take on the Trailblaze Challenge to help raise awareness and funding to make wishes come true! The average cost of a wish is $7500 and it is my goal to raise enough funding to grant AT LEAST one wish!

I know this hike won't be easy, but it is nothing compared to what Wish Kids face every day. As Joshua 1:9 says, I will be strong and courageous because I know that God will be with me every step and every mile of the way! With His help, I can do anything!
