Team Platypus
The best views come after the hardest climb.
Our son Ben was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was 10 years old. This diagnosis turned his life and that of the whole family upside down from one second to the other. Ben’s wish to see his favorite animal, the platypus (at that time only available to visit in Australia!), gave us HOPE and strength. Something to look forward to after months of grueling treatments. Something that was worth fighting for despite a devastating diagnosis with an unknown outcome.
Make-A-Wish made a dream come true- we all traveled to Australia and Ben was able to see, touch and feed this quirky animal in the water.
We are forever grateful for this experience!
Ben is now 20 years old, happy and healthy, a college student in Boulder, CO, majoring in Aerospace Engineering. One day he will do the Trailblaze Challenge too!
