As some of you know, my daughter's best friend (and our neighbor) was diagnosed with leukemia at 10 years old in the summer of 2021. One doctor's visit shortly after our joyous 4th of July neighborhood party upended many lives. During these past three years, this strong and brave girl has endured more than most can handle. But as close friends, it has been an honor to watch her strength, growth, and resilience during the hardest of times. I truly couldn't be prouder of this (now) teenager! She has inspired me to take on this challenge. Also a nature lover, she is currently in the process of fulfilling her Make A Wish by getting a camping trailer!
I have committed myself to hiking 28 miles (in one day!) on June 1 and to raise the necessary funds to participate in this challenge.
I would be delighted and forever grateful if you donated to my Trailblaze Challenge. Although the 28 miles will be difficult, painful, arduous, and full of blisters (!), that temporary pain is miniscule compared to the difficult path for kids dealing with a critical illness.
Thank you so much for donating and for your confidence in me to complete this challenge! I will be giving updates via Instagram and periodic emails.
