Why am I doing this? My daughter Ella had a rough start in life, having a stroke on the first day of her life. She had to endure months of testing, medication, probing and poking, MRIs, and therapy. She pulled through and developed into the loving, spunky, hilarious, empathetic, and sweet person, she is today. She got lucky. But not every child gets that lucky. A wish can spark the belief that anything is possible and it can give these children and their families strength to fight harder against their illness.
Did you know that every hour of every day, on average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness? Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them light and help them heal. I am hiking and fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the true happiness, relief, and renewal a wish can bring.
