Challenge accepted AGAIN!!
I realize this year it’s NOT about ME and the challenge of hiking 28 miles in a single day. I KNOW I can do it, because I have, twice. I may not have been able to walk for weeks after the hike last year, but that’s beside the point! Every year I say to myself,
I’m done
Fundraising IS hard, $5k is A LOT of money
Training IS super challenging (especially with kids and sports)
I hate waking up super early to hike in freezing temperatures
Two times is enough, I need a different challenge.
People are sick of my Make-A-Wish posts
My toenail just grew back
Can one I really convince Chris to do it again?
This year, I am NOT going to listen to all the reasons why I think it’s HARD. This year, for me, it’s ALL ABOUT THE KIDS! I WANT TO be apart of a team that grants wishes to kids with critical illnesses. Giving sick kids hope, that excitement, something GOOD to look forward to. That’s what’s it’s ALL about!
Did you know that Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year? That's a lot, yes. But that's only 50% of eligible kids. Every hour of every day, on average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal. Im' fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the true happiness, relief, and renewal a wish can bring.
Together, we can transform lives! ONE WISH AT A TIME!
