I will be hiking 28 miles in Big Bear on May 30th and fundraising for Make-A-Wish to help grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses. Wish kids are some of the bravest and sweetest kids you'll ever know. Wishes come in all shapes and sizes. Some are heartfelt or jaw-dropping - others funny or tear-jerkers. They wish to work in a pickle factory, become a superhero, be a pilot and fly a plane, build a skatepark and ride with friends, go snorkeling, give their baseball team new uniforms, push all of the buttons in a tall building's elevator, build a chicken coop, or redesign the hospital's playroom for all of the other kids. Their innocence and unexpected wisdom stays with you.
Make-A-Wish grants thousands of unique wishes each year. A lot, yes. But that's only 50% of eligible kids. I am fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring. With your help, it's possible.
My personal goal is to raise $2,500. Yes this is a lot and yes I realize I'm reaching out to people (you) I may not have had much/any interaction with recently. The more I learn about this program and what it goes towards the more I'm motivated to go after it and ask. Would you be willing to donate $25, $50, or $100 to help grant a dream wish? Every bit helps and will go towards a great cause.
Thank you for your support! Maybe that special kid will get his or her unicorn after all (in some form).
