UPDATE April 2020:
More than ever, Make-A-Wish is committed to delivering hope and joy to children with critical illnesses. At this time, we have made the difficult decision to postpone all wish travel, as well as wish kid participation in all activities and events related to Make-A-Wish that involve large gatherings, until further notice.Make-A-Wish estimates more than 30 wishes per day could be delayed by COVID-19 related postponements. Make-A-Wish will continue to monitor guidance from national and international public health and government organizations and are working closely with the national Make-A-Wish Medical Advisory Council, keeping the best interest of the children and families we serve at the center of all policy decisions we make.
Your commitment to wish children and families is critical – particularly now. Because of COVID-19 postponements, there will be more wish kids waiting for wishes than ever before. Your help today will bring hope and joy to wish kids in your community. If you would like to donate, please click into the link below for more information and to donate.
I have accepted the challenge to hike 28 miles as part of the Trailblaze Challenge® San Diego, while also raising $2500 for my local Make-A-Wish® chapter.
They all deserve a wish experience that will give them strength and joy as they face the unimaginable. This is our chance to have a remarkable and everlasting impact on children with critical illnesses in our community, and I am excited to take on this year’s Trailblaze Challenge. In addition to the physical challenge, my commitment to raising money for Make-A-Wish can be made possible with your support. Let's work together to put a smile on a child's face.
Wish kids are some of the bravest and sweetest kids you'll ever know. They wish to work in a pickle factory, become a superhero, go snorkeling, give their baseball team new uniforms, and push all the buttons in a tall building's elevator. Their innocence and unexpected wisdom stays with you.
Make-A-Wish grants thousands of unique wishes each year. That may seem like a lot but that’s only 50% of eligible kids. I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
Please help me support this great cause by joining me on the trail or helping me hit my Trailblaze Challenge fundraising goal. Thank you for your support!
THE CHALLENGE – 28 miles along the Pacific Crest Trail in one day - This scenic trek provides participants an opportunity for adventure, fun and fitness while making a direct impact on the lives of children in our community battling critical illnesses. This is a hike, not a race, and caters to all fitness levels, from novice to advanced outdoor enthusiasts.
In the day it will take me to conquer the Trailblaze Challenge, 72 children will be diagnosed with a critical illness. As these children endure scary medical treatments and doctor visits, they risk losing hope and confidence. Their world will be filled with fear, sadness and anxiety. For these children, wishes simply can’t wait.
A wish creates an opportunity for hope and the ability to experience life beyond illness. Give now and give a child who is battling a critical illness a piece of childhood back. No matter how large or small, your donation will have a direct and transformative impact on wish kids and their families.
Granting wishes for children with critical illnesses is important to me. Will you help me reach my fundraising goal??
Thank you in advance!
