I was excited to return for my second Trailblaze Challenge last year, but because of COVID-19 the event was postponed. I am thrilled now to be able to return this year for my second Trailblaze Challenge! When I signed up in 2019 to hike 28 miles in ONE DAY to support Make-A-Wish, little did I know the impact it would have on me. Being able to contribute towards a wish kid’s dream was such an awesome feeling. Hike day was such a physical challenge, even with months of training, but once I successfully completed the challenge I knew I would be back. I met so many great people and developed lifetime friendships through this experience and am back again this year to help make a difference to a child with a critical illness through my fundraising efforts.
Soon after I completed my first Trailblaze Challenge I got to see firsthand how my support, and that of my donors, made a difference when I was part of a crowd of citizens downtown witnessing a 5 year old wish kid turned police officer arrest and bring in a bank robber to police headquarters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMyxpt6ipy0
Because of the pandemic, several wishes have been affected, especially those involving travel, theme parks, and more. Make-a-Wish has been creative in finding other ways to fulfill the kids’ wishes, and they continue to work hard to make these dreams come true for these kids whose lives have been turned upside down by a critical illness. These kids need these wishes now more than ever. I am fundraising again this year so more deserving kids and their families can know the happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
Thank you for supporting this great cause by helping me reach my Trailblaze Challenge fundraising goal.
