Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues, and Fellow-Travelers,
First of all, I hope all of you have remained healthy during 2020, a year we all wish to forget. It’s a tall order to hurdle the Pandemic, the loss of so many lives, the isolation, and the loss of so many businesses. Although not totally out of the woods yet, we can only hope for a better year.
In 2019, after a personal traumatic year in 2018, at the age of 80+, I took on an extreme challenge by completing a trek of 28 miles in 14 hours on part of the PCT in Big Bear, in an effort to help raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego, which grants wishes to the critically ill children. With all your support, faith and generous donations, I was able to help raise over $11,000. For this I thank you again.
This year, on June 5th, 2021, at the age of 82+, I hope to repeat that same effort by trekking another 28 miles in the same Mountain at high elevation. For the next 4 months, I will be training by hiking many miles, mostly on my own or with a few participants together due to the distancing rules. I shall miss the large crowd camaraderie atmosphere. Through rain or shine, I will be out there to get fit enough to help raise funds for these children who must have suffered worse in 2020.
The minimum amount of $2,500 to participate has already been raised from my personal contribution. I am HOPEFUL that you will help me raise my goal of $15,000.00 by June 1st, 2021, to help grant wishes for these children with critical illnesses. I can do the training, but I NEED your generous contribution to reach my fund raising goal. Every dollar helps, and is 100% tax deductible.
You will receive an official receipt from the Organization once you make your donation online. I am sorry not to be able physically to write out stamped return envelops with address for you to write a check as I did before because of worsening Carpal tunnel issues.
My name will appear as Rosemary Cheung, even though most of you know me by Rosemary Tu.
Thank you for your generosity, your BELIEF and support for me.
Rosemary Cheung ( aka TU)
