I am once again taking on the Make-A-Wish San Diego Trailblaze Challenge for 2025. 28 miles of hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail in ONE DAY is what the Challenge requires, and my big hike day is scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd in Big Bear, CA. Over the next few months, I'll be out hiking - training with other participants to prepare my mind and body to crush those 28 miles - all to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation and to help grant wishes to deserving kids.
Did you know that while Make-A-Wish grants more than 550,000 wishes around the world each year, that number still only accounts for a third of the eligible kids. Every hour of every day, on average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal. Wishes give these kids and their families a much-needed break from the stress that illness brings and provides renewal and strength for the fight ahead. These essential wishes are only possible because of supporters like you. A wish can truly transform a child’s life and together, we have the power to grant it.
Please donate!! I’ve participated in this Challenge four times over the past six years (one year off for COVID and a year off last year). If you've supported me in the past, THANK YOU! Since I’ve been involved with this event, I’ve personally raised over $19,000!! This year I have a goal to raise at least another $2,500. Every little bit helps, and donations in ANY AMOUNT are welcomed…even the smallest donation gets me closer to my goal and helps these kids out.
If you're new to all this, get ready for a fun journey ahead. If you’re interested, I’ll be happy to share updates and photos of the hikes I do during training and of course, a synopsis of Hike Day. The scenery is extraordinary and there are usually a few good stories along the way. Donors will have the opportunity to follow my training progress via a link to a personal blog, and you'll hear all about the big day when it comes.
Come on! Let's make some wishes come true for these kids. Thank you!
