Don't wait for hope. Create it!
Hi everyone! I am beyond excited to share that I am coming back for YEAR 4 (hiking for my 5th and 6th time) of the most magical event I've been lucky to be a part of. Once again, I will be taking on this year’s Trailblaze Challenge TWO times this season-Once with San Diego, and once with Oregon Make-A-Wish.
Why San Diego and Oregon?
Each year after the big hike day, I drive my broken body down the mountain asking myself "What is next? How can I make a bigger impact?" This year I’ve decided to support my first love (ha!) Make-A-Wish San Diego, while challenging myself in a different state, to meet new friends, and help a chapter smaller than our wonderful San Diego event. Kids with critical illnesses need wishes granted in all states, right? Same mission, same deserving kids!
In addition to the physical challenge, this means I have committed myself to raising twice the required amount. These critical funds are necessary for Make-A-Wish to grant the one true wish for each eligible child with a critical illness. With your help, it’s possible!
My Personal Reason:
I know what it's like to experience the joy, and true happiness of a granted wish! When battling Leukemia as a child, I too was given a life changing wish that I still talk about today. I wanted to go to Disney and get slimed at Nickelodeon which is exactly what I did! As a former wish kid, myself, I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can feel the relief and renewal a wish can bring.
Through Make-A-Wish, I am also a wish granter. As a wish granter I get to drive the wish discovery stage all the way to the wish reveal, followed by granting the wish itself. Going from a wish recipient to a wish granter has really been a special thing in my life.
These essential wishes are only possible because of supporters like you. Together, we are transforming lives- One wish at a time!
Will you help me support Make-A-Wish by donating today?
THANK YOU!
:)
