I am so excited to join Team Miles for Smiles this year. I did my first Trailblaze Challenge in 2022.To be honest, when the opportunity to join a Team came up, I was primarily intrigued by the “challenge” aspect of the big hike. However, leading up to and after that first hike, I met and heard the emotional testimony from countless now grown Wish kids and/or Wish kid parents/relatives, and the importance of the Make-A-Wish mission became crystal clear. The Wish experience for every member of the family is so impactful that many of them pay it forward so that other families can have that moment of happy when they need it most. Their unique stories made me want to join them every step of the way by doing my part to help spread kindness and joy.
Every hour of every day, on average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Each one of these kids could use the power of a wish to renew hope, uplift spirits and give them strength to help them heal. I am fundraising so more deserving kids, and their families can know the true happiness, relief, and renewal a wish can bring.
