I am beyond excited to participate in this year's Trailblaze Challenge for Make-A-Wish. My challenge is not just the physical 23.4 mile hike but helping raise crucial funds necessary for Make-A-Wish to fulfill wishes for children with critical illnesses.
A wish renews hope and can be the spark that makes anything seem possible for a child, family and community. World wide Make-A-Wish has granted more than 550,000 wishes and in my state of Maine1,850 wishes have been granted since 1992. For every wish that comes true, two more children are waiting because Make-A-Wish lacks the necessary funding.
My goal is to raise 2,500 for Make-A-Wish so more deserving kids and their families can know the life-changing joy, strength and hope a wish can bring.
