In 2023 my daughter Lainey was a Make-A-Wish recipient and I saw firsthand the hope and joy a wish coming true can have on a child. It was truly life-changing for her and our family! The cost of granting a wish is $10,130 on average and on top of the financial cost, Make-A-Wish relies on an amazing network of volunteers and staff to plan, coordinate, and execute the wish. I can say unequivocally that there is truly no more pure or noble organization than Make-A-Wish!
In order to pay this incredible gift forward and in honor of Lainey, who continues to work so hard to get stronger every day, I have decided in 2024 that I will be participating in the Make-A-Wish Trailblaze Challenge. The challenge is a 23.4 mile hike in the western Maine mountains completed in a day and while difficult, pales in comparison to what wish kids and their families go through every day.
