We are excited to take on this year’s Trailblaze Challenge. In addition to the physical challenge, we have committed ourselves to raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses.
Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted the wishes of thousands of children, one of whom received his in the 1980s. Our team’s namesake is in honor of Aaron Barbakow, who wanted to meet the Los Angeles Lakers. He was introduced to Pat Riley and other notable members of the Lakers organization. It was an extraordinary moment and a very special day in his life.
Wish kids are some of the bravest and sweetest kids you'll ever know. They wish to work in a pickle factory, become a superhero, go snorkeling, give their baseball team new uniforms, and push all of the buttons in a tall building's elevator. Their innocence and unexpected wisdom stays with you forever.
While Make-A-Wish grants thousands of unique wishes each year, this only represents about 50% of eligible children. Team Barbakow is hiking 28 miles and fundraising so even more deserving kids, and their families, can know the happiness, relief and renewal that a wish can bring.
Please help us support this wonderful cause by joining us on the trail or helping us hit our Trailblaze Challenge fundraising goals.
With much Gratitude,
Cristina and Jordan Barbakow
