I am excited to take on this year's Trailblaze Challenge for my 4th year. What is the Trailblaze Challenge? It's a one day 22 mile hike on the Bartram Trail to raise funds and awareness for Make-A-Wish. None of the hikes have been easy, but they are so rewarding when you remember why you're doing it.
My son Evan was a Make-A-Wish recipient in 2017 while he was still undergoing chemotherapy treatments for leukemia. I know first hand the impact MaW has on families and the children battling life threatening diseases. MaW does much more than what you see on camera as there is coordination, events and celebrations for families. Once my son was in remission my family made it a priority to help other kids with their own battles, which answers the Why in my journey.
Life-changing wishes are only possible because of supporters like us. A wish can truly transform a child's life, and we have the power to grant it. Please, donate if you can, or even better join me on the trail! It's not too late and the impact you can have is immeasurable.
