MY WHY.......Our team was founded in 2018 in memory of Olivia Landreth, a resident of the Leicester community in Buncombe County. Olivia passed away in May of 2017 at the age of 9. During her 9 year journey through 2 heart transplants, Olivia and her family received so much kindness and support from their friends and community. Olivia was a true WARRIOR. Our team goal is to help her family keep Olivia’s memory in the forefront of everything that they do and to honor her by giving support to other Wish families. Olivia had her very own Wish trip to Disney in May of 2015, just after her second heart transplant.
Our team goal is $15,000. Olivia would have been 15 on her birthday on January 22.Did you know that Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year? That’s a lot, yes. But that’s only 50% of the eligible kids. Every hour of every day, on average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal.
