As you may know, I love to hike. My dad and I have a goal to complete the North Carolina and Tennessee sections of the Appalachian Trail. Well, this year I am taking on a new challenge. I am excited to be a part of this year’s Trailblaze Challenge, which is a 28.3-mile hike on June 10th, to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & Western NC. In addition to the physical challenge, I have committed myself to raising the critical funds necessary for Make-A-Wish to grant the one true wish for each eligible child with a critical illness. I would love for you to become a part of my challenge by donating as you can to help children with terminal illness get the opportunity to live out their wishes.
While Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year, that’s only 50% of the eligible children. On average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness every hour. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal. I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the true happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
