Family and Friends,
I hope this message finds everyone doing well this year! Once again, I will be participating in the Make A Wish Trailblaze Challenge, a 28.3 mile hiking challenge to complete in one day on May 20. This will be my 9th year participating in this extraordinary event. I have decided to take on this challenge again to raise funds for Make-A-Wish and aid them in granting incredible opportunities for many families. Make-A-Wish grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. These families and children may be unable to participate in and enjoy the many experiences and vacations many of us are able to. You are directly contributing to making these wishes happen and give these children an experience of a lifetime.
This is where the incredible support of my family and friends is so important. To be able to use an activity I love to raise money and support for these children who need it has been a very humbling experience. You may not see the immediate impacts of your donation, but the support generated really does go a long way to help children and families in need. We will be hiking numerous miles in order to train and prepare for this challenge, over numerous weekends until the big day on May 18. The hike and training itself is the easy part, in comparison to the battles families face every day in the fight against cancer and other life threatening afflictions.
This year I want the focus to be on the children and families who you are all directly contributing towards. 100% of your donations go directly to the Make A Wish Foundation; all costs related to my training, travel and Snickers bars will be covered by myself. I’ll be sharing stories of the incredible opportunities that you all may have contributed to in the past, and share what your donations are going to support for future families and children. I’ve included a few links below. Not all wishes are for kids to receive anything, some of these kids just want to give to their community and fellow children and families.
Thanks for taking the time to visiting my page and I sincerely appreciate and want to thank you all in advance for your support and donations over the next few months. Feel free to send any questions or comments to SWetherb@gmail.com I look forward to keeping up with everyone over the course of the spring!I
