I am excited to take on this year’s Trailblaze Challenge and pay forward the blessings we've received. In September 2017, our daughter Jilly was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and it forever changed our lives. Two years of chemotherapy, steroids and week-long stays at the hospital and our eyes were focused on the end. A cancer-free future. Make-a-Wish contacted us to grant a wish for Jilly and she chose a trip to Disneyworld in November 2019 when her treatment ended! It was such a magical experience. The gauntlet of cancer behind us, Jilly felt like a princess that could do anything.
Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year. That’s a lot, but that’s only half of the eligible kids. Every hour of every day, on average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal. I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the true happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
These essential wishes are only possible because of supporters like you. Together, we are transforming lives one wish at a time. So join me in spirit on this 28.3 mile hike as we transform kids lives with the power of a wish being granted!
