In 2018 our daughter was granted a wish. The process was so easy and they did all of the hard work for us. She was able to go to Disney, Universal Studios and we were able to stay at the Give Kids the World Village. While we thought Disney and Universal were going to be amazing, we were not prepared for our stay at the village. For a week, Carlie felt normal and like a superstar all at the same time. Our family felt so loved and accepted. I cannot tell you the impact this experience this had on all of our lives. They not only showered Carlie with love, affection and gifts but they did that for her brother and sister. No detail was left unnoticed. She also celebrated her birthday while there. They made such a big deal for her birthday. I really feel like this experience made an impact on all of our lives in such a way that it changed us all forever.
Make-A-Wish is so important. We are forever grateful for everything they did. Now, Carlie just celebrated her 17th birthday. I'm not going to say life is easy for her now but it is manageable. This year I decided that I want to give back. I want to provide a wish for another child so they can have the same experience.
Did you know that Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year? That’s a lot, yes. But that’s only 50% of the eligible kids. Every hour of every day, on average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal. I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the true happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
These essential wishes are only possible because of supporters like you. Together, we are transforming lives- One wish at a time!
