Hi everyone. I am so excited about a challenge I have decided to take on and I’d like to share it with you. I came across an advertisement one day about the “Trailblaze Challenge”. The challenge is to hike 28.3 miles along the Foothills Trail in one day! But it’s not just a hike without a purpose. It is a hike being sponsored by the Make-A-Wish Foundation and it has a BIG purpose - to grant wishes to children with critical illnesses.
Although Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year, that is only 50% of the eligible kids. Every hour of every day, on average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal. I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the true happiness, relief and renewal a wish-come-true can bring.
So, in addition to the physical challenge, I have committed to raising the critical funds necessary for Make-A-Wish to grant the one true wish for each eligible child with a critical illness. All the funds raised in this Trailblaze Challenge will go to our local children in the Central & Western North Carolina area. I have a lofty fundraising goal, but with your help, I know it's possible. Together we can make a difference and change lives!
