We are thrilled to take on this year’s Trailblaze Challenge. In addition to the physical challenge, we have committed ourselves to raising the essential funds necessary for Make-A-Wish to help grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses.

This charity holds a special place in our lives.  As a child Austin's sister Ariel was diagnosed with cancer.  It was an intense and lengthy process that weighed on the whole family, but especially Ariel who was going through surgery and chemo.  It was very generous of Make-A-Wish to grant Ariel's wish and give her a brief respite from the going through the difficult process of beating cancer.

Back in October of 2021, Austin himself was diagnosed with cancer.  He also got to experience chemotherapy and surgery, having a piece of himself cut out of his body.  His chemotherapy was much less extreme than his sister's, and yet gave him insight into how difficult it can be to stay possitive while fighting with critical illness.  He is so happy to have come out the other side of his cancer experience, and hopes to continue to have clean scans as he monitors for any signs of reoccurence.

Austin's experience with cancer has shown us the value that a wish can provide in the life of child with critical illness.  You spend alot of time living in your own head while you go through your chemo treatments, or rest after your surgery.  You can have alot of scary thoughts, and having something as wonderful as a wish to look forward to is such a kind thing for these kiddos.

Wish kids are some of the most resilient and sweetest kids you'll ever know. The one true vision of a wish may vary from trip to a pickle factory, become a superhero, give their baseball team new uniforms, and push all of the buttons in a tall building's elevator. Their innocence and unexpected wisdom stays with you.

Make-A-Wish grants thousands of unique wishes each year. A lot, yes. But that’s only 50% of eligible kids, and now more than ever every child needs something positive to look forward to. We’re fundraising so more deserving kids and their families may know the true happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.

Please help us support this impactful mission by following us on the trail and helping us hit our Trailblaze Challenge fundraising goal.  We really appreciate you all helping contribute towards the wishes of these deserving kids working every day to overcome their critical illnesses. Any donation is a meaninful controbution towards a childs happiness.  Thank you for your support in making these wishes come true!  Happy trails.
