Beginning the Make-A-Wish Trailblaze Challenge Journey!
If you know me, you already know at least some of our journey with Claire. Five years ago, Claire was granted her Wish through Make-A-Wish Alabama. Through the years, we have always tried to give back the love we received. We spend time with those families who have a child going through critical illnesses, we donate blood as we can, I've recently become a MAW Volunteer and this time I am doing something a bit more extreme.
I am going to take on this year’s Trailblaze Challenge (mega-hard-can't-believe-people-do-this-for-fun 26+ mile hike). In addition to the physical challenge, I have committed myself to raising the critical funds necessary for Make-A-Wish to continue their phenomenal work - granting wishes. With your help, it’s possible.
Each Wish is meaningful in a different way to each child. For Claire, she had to spend basically from 7 months old until almost 3 years old bedbound or only minimally mobile. As a result, she watched almost every single Disney movie and cartoon out there (MANY TIMES EACH).
That meant when the question was asked, there was always, ever, one wish...she was going to see those mice at the Mouse House - Disney World! There aren't words enough to describe the trip, but it was AMAZING. And now we are trying to create "AMAZING" for other children.
