In the summer of 2023, my dad completed the 29029 challenge where he hiked an accumulated elevation of 29,029 feet, which is the height of the peak of Mt. Everest. Upon training for, completing, and reflecting upon this intense physical and mental challenge, my dad set an example for our family in the importance of pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone. His life motto has become "Do hard things", and he is quick to encourage the people around him to challenge themselves and see what they are truly capable of. While hiking 26.3 miles is not quite the same as hiking a total elevation of 29,029 feet, I have decided to take on the Trailblaze Challenge as a way to follow in my dad's footsteps. As I prepare to graduate from college, I have been searching for a way to challenge myself and end this chapter of my life strong. I have become very excited and passionate about this challenge because I will not only grow and benefit immensely from it, but Make-A-Wish will be donating 75% of the money I raise towards granting wishes for children across Alabama. I believe in the power of hope, optimism, and encouragement, and Make-A-Wish truly gives that to each of their Wish Kids. Children make up the next generation of our world, so I would love for you to partner with me to raise money and give hope to our future leaders.

I am excited to take on this year’s Trailblaze Challenge. In addition to the physical challenge, I have committed myself to raising the critical funds necessary for Make-A-Wish to grant the one true wish for each eligible child with a critical illness. With your help, it’s possible.   

Did you know that Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year? That’s a lot, yes. But that’s only 50% of the eligible kids.  Every hour of every day, on average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal.  I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the true happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
