I am excited to take on this year’s Trailblaze Challenge for a second time! Years ago my daughter Allison made a grade school Christmas ornament that had a wand and her handwriting saying "Make A Wish". A connection to her spirit and a good cause to support in Make-A-Wish Alabama. I was drawn to this challenge to turn pain from grief and loss into purpose and to spread kindness to others in crisis.
Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year. But that’s only 50% of the eligible kids. Every hour of every day, on average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. These wishes have enabled children to experience hope during a difficult time.
