Back again for my second year and I am so excited to take on this year’s - 2024 Trailblaze Challenge. In addition to hiking 26.3 miles in one day, I have committed myself to raising the necessary funds for Make-A-Wish to grant the one true wish for each eligible child with a critical illness. With your help, it is possible.
For those of you that know me, I am not a quitter. Although along the way, I have always known that I could quit, just knowing that critically ill children are not given this opportunity, makes it easier to push through the toughest times. My brother, Jim, was a perfect example of one that never quit. Although he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease at a very young age, he surpassed life's expectations in almost every way imaginable, before the unforgiving disease took his life. Jim, left a mark on so many lives and hiking in his honor is the least that I can do. I feel privileged and am excited to be given this opportunity and by accepting this challenge, I hope to make a difference in a young person's life, by celebrating my brother's life at the same time.
Did you know that Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year? That’s a lot, yes. But that’s only 50% of the eligible kids. Every hour of every day, on average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal. I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the true happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
These essential wishes are only possible because of supporters like you. Together, we are transforming lives - One wish at a time!
