I am excited to take on this year’s Trailblaze Challenge. In addition to the physical challenge, I have committed myself to raising $5,000 for Make-A-Wish Alabama to help grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses in Alabama's Million Dollar Year! With your help, it’s possible.
I first heard about Make-A-Wish when I worked at a summer camp for children with critical illnesses. It's impossible to describe the joy that wishes bring to kids who need them most, even months or years after their Wish has been granted. Make-A-Wish nationwide grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year -- but that’s STILL only 50% of the eligible kids! There are nearly 300 children in Alabama alone waiting for their Wish to be granted, and every hour of every day, three more children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Every single one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal. I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
These life-changing wishes are only possible because of supporters like US. A wish experience can truly change a child’s life, and so can we.
