I am excited to participate in the Alabama Trailblaze Challenge for Make-A-Wish Alabama again this year. I hike in honor of my first cousin once removed, Benjamin, and his parents, Julie and James. Benjamin has had many hard days in his young life. Despite everything he has been through, his smile lights up the room! Benjamin and his parents are an inspiration to me and many others.
These hikes are hard, y'all! The first one is 26.3 miles and the second one is 30.3 miles.
It is nothing compared to the hard days that critically ill children and their families face. I have committed to raising the funds needed for Make-A-Wish Alabama to grant the one true wish for each eligible child with a critical illness.

Did you know that Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year? That’s a lot, yes. But that’s only 50% of the eligible kids. Every hour of every day, on average, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal. I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the true happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
