I am excited to share with you all that I have joined this year’s Trailblaze Challenge. I will be hiking 28 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail in the Big Bear area in May to help raise funds for Make-A-Wish!!!
Make-A-Wish grants thousands of unique wishes each year for children with critical illnesses. Sounds like a lot, but that’s only 50% of eligible kids. I would love to raise as many funds as possible so that more deserving kids and their families can have the opportunity to experience the happiness, relief, and renewal a wish can bring.
When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy, and anxiety with hope. As some of you may know, I am a volunteer wish granter for Make-A-Wish San Diego, so I get to experience this first hand and can attest to the power of a wish. Wish kids are some of the bravest and sweetest kids you'll ever know. I am not a hiker, so yes I’m a little terrified of the thought of hiking 28 miles in a single day, and yes it will take a lot of training and dedication, but I am up for the challenge! I will be as strong and as brave as my wish kids and will gladly take on the physical and mental challenge knowing the impact it will have!
Please help me achieve my Trailblaze Challenge fundraising goal. Feel free to spread the word to other friends, family, and colleagues...any little bit helps! Thank you in advance for your generous support for this amazing cause!
