-Mary and I want to take this opportunity to thank all our family, frends, co workers and everybody for helping me get this far. Together we've raised 83% ($5030.00) of our Six thousand dollar goal. Together we've made it possible for children of San Diego to have their wish come true.
Mary and I are so close to reaching our fundraising goal and participating in the Trailblaze Challenge, 28 miles in one day. At this point we are 250 hikers strong with a goal of raising Five Hundred Thousand dollars ($500,000.00). That's wishes granted for so mant deserving children! We anticipate that not all will reach their fundraising goal and or not meet the physical challenge. My best guess for my time would be 14 hours, if I can reach 28 miles in 12 hours I would feel really good mentally and I'd expect exhausted physically. I am planning to do my part as I journey with some truly great people.
The event will take place two weekends in May. We will Journey on the Pacific Crest Trail, PCT. The North-South trail from Mexico (mile0.0) to Canada (mile 2600.0). We will pick up the trail and begin our journey at Big Bear Lake California. We will arrive one day early before the event, starting the challenge before sunrise the following day. There will be opportunities for supporters to gather at the finish line. Meals and celebrations to follow the next day.
Besides fundraising we've logged over 200 miles between the YMCA and training hikes.
Make-A-Wish grants thousands of unique wishes each year. But that’s only 50% of eligible kids. I’m fundraising and challenging myself so more deserving kids and their families can know the happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
Please help us support this great cause by joining me on the trail or helping me hit my Trailblaze Challenge fundraising goal. Thank you for your support!
