As many of you know my son, Casey, and I have been participating in ½ marathons over the last several years – a great opportunity for mama/son bonding time, although, he always finishes at least an hour ahead of me! Casey and I started thinking that we should take it to the next level and have been exploring the Pacific Coast Trail and the lofty goal of hiking from Mexico to Canada. While researching the trail and training options we found a great opportunity to participate in the Make-A-Wish's Trailblaze Challenge. The Trailblaze Challenge is more than a hike. It is more than a fundraiser. The Trailblaze Challenge is a life-changing endurance experience that ultimately helps Make-A-Wish San Diego grant wishes to over 300 children with critical illnesses in our community.
What will we be doing? Hiking 28 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail…in one day! This scenic trek provides an opportunity for adventure, fun and fitness while making a direct impact on the lives of San Diego's Wish Kids! In addition to the physical challenge, we have committed to raising money for the San Diego Make-A-Wish Foundation. With your help, it’s possible!
My goal is to raise $2,500 ahead of the Challenge. If you'd like to make a tax-deductible donation to this great cause, I would be forever grateful!
Thank you in advance for your support!
