When someone you care about falls ill, you always hope they have good health care- access to educated and well-trained people to provide the best medical treatments available and help assist with uncomfortable symptoms… But did you ever stop to think about who can offer a positive attitude, a break from a harsh reality, some fun… some hope? Well that is what the Make-A-Wish Foundation does; they offer hope care. What participating fundraisers help provide with our hike fundraising is hope insurance- we help to cover those families that need someone outside of their immediate support systems to organize something amazing, special, yet personal to inspire hope for the young patients and families. This was my experience as a participant with the Make-A-Wish Trailblaze Challenge.
On Saturday, June 1 from 4am- 1pm I hiked my tail off across 28 miles along the Pacific Crest Trail up in Big Bear, California. 200 hikers over 2 weekends all took that same journey, honoring the struggle that terminally ill children and their families endure while fighting the battle for life. I have 4 families that are close to me that have been in this battle- one lost, one won, and two are still in the trenches. This was my motivation to help participate to raise funds to make wishes happen.
We are still accepting positive energy and good vibes always, but also accepting donations still through the end of June. If this cause speaks to your heart, please consider donating.
Thank you for your support!
