Once again, I am busy training to hike 28 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail - IN ONE DAY. Yes, you read that correctly, I'm doing it AGAIN! Over the last few months, through rain or shine, I have been hiking many, many miles—and some steep miles at that—to prepare for the Trailblaze Challenge to benefit Make-A-Wish® San Diego.
I will be taking on this extreme endeavor to challenge myself both physically and mentally. But I’ve set my sights higher than just training to hike 28 miles. I also aim to raise money to help fund the wishes of children with critical illnesses to enrich their lives with hope and strength at a time when they need it most.
I am dedicating this year's hike to the memory of our dear friend, Kimi. Kimi was an 12 year old classmate of my son, Charlie. This sweet girl lost her 8+ year fight with neuroblastoma in January of this year. She faced every day, every treatment, and every obstacle in her way with amazing resilience and her ever present smile.
The money I raise will help children like Kimi. A wish come true empowers children to fight harder against their illnesses. When they are granted a wish, they get more than just a great experience for a day, two days, or a week. That experience improves the quality of life for them and their entire family.
This is where, I’m hoping, you come in. Though I can do the training, I need your help to reach my fundraising goal. Every dollar you donate is 100% tax deductible and will be invested in children’s wishes, like Kimi’s.
Donating is easy and secure. Just click “Donate Now” at the top of this page. Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated! You can also join me in raising funds and spreading the word to your contacts. You never know who might be able to help and any gift is another step toward granting vital wishes.
Thank you in advance for supporting me in my Trailblaze Challenge. With your help, I will hike 28 miles and give children the gift of hope, strength and joy!
With much love,
