Why This Is Important To Us
My name is Trisha and I am a cancer survivor and a former wish child. In November of 2015, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. With this, my entire life spun out of control. After six cycles of chemotherapy, I was exhausted and uncertain. The only thing I had to look forward to was my wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. My wish was granted in December of 2016 and my family and I were able to go to the Galápagos Islands. It was an incredible experience. Nothing can really compare to the feeling of being kissed by a baby sea lion or swimming with enormous turtles, and following the slow gate of a giant tortoise. This trip opened my eyes to the fragility and beauty of life. It showed me the importance of life and the importance of protecting it. Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has been granting wishes to children with life-threatening diseases, such as cancer or cystic fibrosis. As a wish receiver, I have experienced how this organization changes the lives of these children.
This year I am a member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation's Youth Board to help fundraise and grant the wishes of thousands of other children who have battled or are currently battling these diseases. Please help me change their lives for the better by contributing to Trisha's Turbos!!
Thank you for all your support.
