  • On Thanksgiving, we give thanks.
  • On Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we shop.
  • On #GivingTuesday, we give back.

  • To celebrate #GivingTuesday this year, Make-A-Wish supporters are raising funds to help make wishes come true in communities across the state. Each of the 5 Illinois regions is working tirelessly to raise $10,000, with the goal of raising $50,000 statewide by midnight on November 29th, 2016.
  • Wishes don't come true because of one person. It takes every dollar, every person, every community to change the life of a sick child. Please join the HEROES in Region Five (Southeast Illinois) and help local children fighting tough battles experience the magic of a wish.

"I'm involved with Make-A-Wish because I support their mission to bring happiness to children with big, life-threatening burdens on their hearts. It brings me such joy to see the smile on their faces when we tell them Make-A-Wish is going to make their dream come true. The positive impact of a granted wish on a wish child are numerous. I hope my friends, family and community will all come together this #GivingTuesday to help strengthen and empower wish kids to fight harder against their illnesses."

- Kara Bevis (Herrin)

"Disadvantaged children truly touch my heart. I feel that helping to grant a wish goes a long way toward helping not only the wish children, but the entire family. It is so heartwarming to see a child's face light up when they realize their dream will come true!"

- Sherry Smith (Gorham)

"Through my own personal experience, I have watched a child be blessed by Make-A-Wish Illinois. When given the opportunity to give back to this organization, I answered the request to become a volunteer with 'YES!'"

- Nancy Pullum (Carterville)

"I first learned about Make-A-Wish when our son Logan was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. He was not quite a year old when he was diagnosed. We met several inspiring children and families during his course of treatment and heard about Make-A-Wish... When our son was old enough, his wish of going to Disney World was granted. We had an amazing time - no amount of money can buy the experiences we had with our son on his wish trip! When we got back home, I inquired about becoming a wish granter... I have met so many wonderful children and families throughout Southern Illinois by being a wish granter. It has truly been a blessing!"

- Tiffany Korte (Belknap)

"We've all heard the saying, 'A picture says a thousand words.' Nothing compares to the look on a child's face when their wish comes true. Join Make-A-Wish on #GivingTuesday and help more dreams come true."

- Amy Fox (Carterville)

"Make-A-Wish has provided me an opportunity to meet some of the most amazing kids and families who have been challenged in some way by dealing with health problems. The strength and endurance that these kids have is truly inspiring and I love every moment of the wish process, especially seeing the pure joy and excitement that the wish provides them.

- Beth Cottrill (Teutopolis)
